Araw is our millet flour pellet, made from high-quality millet flour granules. Millet, a gluten-free grain, is rich in protein, minerals (iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, potassium), folic acid, and B vitamins.
Our Araw is organic, crafted from premium ingredients, perfect for a variety of delicious dishes such as ‘Fondé,’ ‘Lakh,’ ‘Thiakry,’ etc. These pellets, varying in size, are commonly used in Sahelian African cuisine (Senegal, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire) for dishes like Lakh or Fondé in Senegal and Mali. They are manually prepared by rolling millet flour into micro pellets.

Preparation:
Boil 500ml of water with a pinch of salt. Gradually add about 250g of Araw while stirring to prevent lumps. Simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked. Properly cooked Araw should show no presence of raw flour when the crushed grains are examined.
Remove from heat and serve in a bowl.
For Fondé: During cooking, you can add milk, baobab powder diluted in water, or lemon juice. Sweeten to taste.
For Lakh: Serve in a shallow dish and pour sweetened curdled milk over it to your liking.
